White Gravy Recipe


Ingredients
* 2-1/2 tablespoons butter
* 3-1/2 tablespoons flour
* 2 cups hot milk
* salt and white pepper to taste
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then whisk in the flour and cook until a buttery yellow, foamy paste forms. Do not allow to start turning brown.
2. Slowly add milk, whisking vigorously. Simmer 2-3 minutes as gravy thickens. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
3. Whisk in salt and pepper to taste.
