Fruity Hot Sauce Recipe
Here is a fruity hot sauce that we call "fire in a bottle". It is hot and slightly sweet. May be kept in refrigerator about 4 months. Goes well with chicken, pork or fish.
Ingredients
* 7 Habanero chile pepper, stemmed and seeded* 6 Mangos, peeled and seeded
* 7 Kiwi fruit, peeled
* Juice of 4 Lime
* Juice of 3 Lemons
* 4 tablespoons Orange juice, frozen concentrate
* 1/3 cup white Vinegar
* 1 teaspoon Salt
* 2 cups Water
Directions
1. In a large pot, combine Habaneros, water and salt. Bring to a boil for 15 minuets.2. Drain, saving 3/4 cup of the water.
3. Put Habaneros and all remaining ingredients except vinegar in a blender, with the saved water, and run blender until you have a smooth sauce.
4. Return to pot and simmer on medium low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
5. Remove from heat and stir in vinegar till slightly cooled.
6. Bottle and refrigerate.
